Tanuki is a well-established importer, distributor and manufacturer of high-quality crop protection and nutrition inputs, supplying customers Australia-wide from our warehouse in Toowoomba. With strong operational capacity, field applied research, product development capabilities and a reputation for rapidly responding to customer needs, we are the supplier of choice for many of our customers. Always future-focused, we have invested in two complementary businesses, Pyrocal: an engineering business designing and building biochar production systems for global markets; and Fertec: a packaging, logistics and application business focused on micronised gypsum.

About the Opportunity
Tanuki has recently brought on a global supplier in a new product category for our business. To drive this important opportunity and grow our existing portfolio, we are looking for a dynamic sales leader who thrives on winning new business, building strong customer relationships and looking for the next opportunity. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and growing sales in South Eastern Australia

• Managing relationships with resellers, end-user customers and industry stakeholders

• Providing leadership to a small geographically diverse sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high-performance

• Developing and implementing sales strategies and plans 

• Producing regular sales reports, forecasts and analysis

• Staying up-to-date with competitor activities, market trends and industry news

• Working closely with the marketing team on marketing programs and activities

• Identifying new business opportunities

About You

You will be a highly experienced agribusiness professional with a strategic approach, proven track record in sales and outstanding commercial acumen. You will be motivated to play an active role in the leadership team to grow and shape the future direction of the company and respond to new opportunities as they arise. Ideally you will be based in Victoria or South Australia, however we may consider candidates from other locations depending upon experience. 

Our ideal candidate:

• Strong leadership skills and experience leading a geographically diverse sales team

• Exceptional sales track record in the agribusiness sector

• Tender management experience

• Exemplary interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

• Well organised with high levels of professionalism and integrity

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and customer database and forecasting tools

• Able to travel locally and nationally (approximately 50-70% of the working time)

• A bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Environmental Science (desirable)
